Dreaming of the Tardis.
‘Ambiguous?’
Holmes ignored me and peered through his binoculars. ‘At last we have her lair.’
‘Same sign again, Holmes.’
‘A mere ploy, Watson.’ He pointed to the distant ridge. ‘The Tardis! we have her. Oh boy, Watson, the Doctor is here.’ He strode on along the track.
For the hundredth time the ridge came into view, as we reached the same sign on this same spot.
Is there no escape from this repetitive nightmare? I was dehydrated following Holmes on this circular looped track.
‘The Tardis!’
Next time round, I will push him off and jump to jolt myself awake.

Lot of fun. Love the vision of the circular track with Sherlock and Dr walking it together. Love the last line – even the dreamer is getting bored with the circular walk.

I like the way you write the circular story – and have Doctor Watson tempted to end the ‘dream’ by pushing Holmes and following him over the cliff.

Ah, you had me reading this again. I am following a theme here, Sherlock Holmes is jealousy of being upstaged by Doctor Who – now a WOMAN – he is not happy about that. His self imposed mission is to hunt down the Doctor, The Time Lord – and then what? We will never get to that stage, I hope as it is the hunt that we are interested in. (Besides it drives Sherlock and Dr Watson mad.)

Ah. I thought the “her” referred to the Tardis because ships are always called “her.” I will check out your other stories.

A most entertaining tale – a believable duo The Doctor & Watson- not sure why ? The fearful loop that Holmes is stuck in fits both with his obsessive nature and the winding path, I feel. Well done.
